Motion is lotion as David Butler says. You have to move. In the past the recommendation for "treatment" was often rest. While that is still the case in certain instances, more often than not, we need to keep moving. The muscles, joints, nerves and other tissues are dynamic and are meant to be in motion.

It is therefore important that any treatment program includes some form of movement, stretches or strength activity at some point in the treatment plan. This helps to maintain the progress you make during the treatment sessions and helps you to improve your day-to-day function.

Dawn ensures that the movements are specific to you and realistic with your lifestyle and time realities. There's no point in giving you something you won't do! As always, treatment is about collaboration and you're an important factor in that equation.

The purpose of these exercise programs are:

Reduce pain

Increased muscle strength

Improved muscle flexibility or joint range of motion

Improved balance and coordination

Improved posture and body awareness.

These exercises are different than the exercise programs that are provided by other general fitness type programs. Dawn provides specific one-on-one instruction to learn each exercise and make sure you are doing them effectively by checking them at subsequent treatment visits.

Once you learn the exercises in the clinic, you will likely need to keep doing them at home. To help you remember the specific exercises, Dawn often provides you with pictures/videos and instructions so you have a reference of what you need to do at home.
